Child 2. Curtis
Curtis Blunt resided with his parents in 19101251, 19201151 and 19301178. In the 1930 census, he seems to appear twice, as do his parents. In one household, he appears as "Curtis B" below the entries for John W and Mabel Blunt, listed as "brother-in-law" in the household of Harry C Travis, and Harry's wife Leila. In another entry, "Curtiss Burr" appears as "step Son" to John and Mabel Blunt. It's not clear whether that is an enumeration error. It appears that Burr was Curtis' middle name, the enumerator took it as a surname and assumed Curtis was Mabel's son from another marriage. In several newspaper articles from 1942, Curtis Burr Blunt of Hornell is mentioned as a draft inductee. Curtis Blunt, a resident of Steuben Co., NY, enlisted2475 5937 in the U. S. Army as a Private in Rochester, NY, Jun 22, 1942. He was released on Oct 18, 1944. He died5937 92 Dec 16, 1974, a resident of Hornell, NY. He was buried840 in Rural Cem., Hornell, NY.
