Married5659 1887~1126. The 1933 obituary5659 for I L Williamson mentions his marriage to "Miss Mary Bennett" of Hammondsport, who died about "8 years ago." The 1900 census1126 lists Linn and Mary Williamson as married 13 yrs.
McGowan5587 has Ira's birth year as 1869. However, census records and Ira's obituary indicate that Jun 1866 is correct.
Ira's obituary5659 states he died following a long illness which began with an operation "last Fall." His remains were taken to the home of a niece, Mrs J C Brown, of Tuscarora St, Addison.
Ira spent most of his life near Hammondsport and he was vineyardist. He was survived by sister Mrs E A Parish, Mrs J E Williamson and Mrs W E Lamphier; and a brother Wilbur. Also mentioned was a nephew Earl McGowan and niece Mrs Arhie Lapp
Mary's obituary5660 mentions her birth date and place, and parents Uriel F Bennitt(sic) and Phoeba Townsend. She was a descendant of Luther Townsend who settled in the town of Bath, 1851. She was survived by one brother Burton L Bennitt; two half sisters Mrs Charlotte Aber (of Pleasant Valley) and Mrs Georgiana Crookston (of Hammondsport); a half brother John T Williamson of Buffalo; and an adopted daughter Mrs Gladys Zimmerman of Wells, Minn.
