The parents of Benjamin Eldred are assumed from a genealogy posted to the Genealogical column of the Boston Transcript6018 which mentions a son, Benjamin Seymour Eldred, of Hosea Eldred and Hannah Shaw, died May 1865 at Campbell, NY; married there 1856 Elvira Bidler(sic). The death date and marriage date in that genealogy match information in the obituary of Mrs Elvira (nee Bideler, Eldred) Manry.
The obituary5035 for Mrs Elvira Manry provides much information on her marriages and children. Elvira was born Jul 25, 1835, at Meads Creek (Campbell), New York. She married Sep 6, 1856, Benjamin Eldred. They had three children, a daughter who died in infancy, and two sons, one who died 8 years previously, and A L Eldred of Curtis, who survived her. Benjamin Eldred died May 8, 1865.
Elvira married Jul 8, 1869, Abram Manry, who died 4 years previously. Elvira and Abram had two sons: Fred of Bath, and Erastus of Hammondsport.
Elvira died at the home of son Erastus, following a long illness. She was buried in Curtis Cemetery beside her first husband, Benjamin Eldred.
