Married5960. The petition for probate5960 of Obadiah Lee's will mentions Rebecca Sturtevant, wife of Luman Sturtevant, as the daughter of Joseph Lee (son of Obadiah Lee), deceased.

In 1850, Luman Sturdevant was head of household1371 in East Fishkill, Dutchess Co., NY. Residing with him (all born in New York) were Rachal Sturdevant, age 25; Robt Sturdevant, age 34; Sarah A Danils(?), age 17; and Thomas Sturdevant, age 10.

The 1855 petition for probate5959 5960 for Obadiah Lee's will lists Luman Sturtevant as a son of Obadiah's deceased daughter Rachel (Lee) Sturtevant. That petition also mentions Rebecca Sturtevant, a daughter of Obadiah's deceased son Joseph Lee, as the wife of Luman Sturtevant.

The 1901 obituary5955 for Luman B Sturdevant mentions that he was a veteran of the Civil War, a member of Company F of the 63d Regiment, New York State Volunteers, and had been a resident of Corning since the close of the "War." His survivors were one brother Thomas Sturdevant of Hornby; one sister Mrs Elizabeth Mosier, of Taylor Hill, PA; and a granddaughter Mrs Clover Roll of Corning. He was 78 years old at his death, following a "general breaking down by old age," the cause of his death.

In 1900, Luman Sturdvent(sic), head of household, born Sept 1822, widowed, resided in Corning, NY. Residing with him were Clover Roll, Eva Roll, Beatrice Roll, Frank K Roll, and John McCullon(sic), son in law.

Cemetery information840 (incl. tioga.nygenweb.net) has Rebeca(sic, from image) Ann, wife of Luman B Sturtevant, died 19 May 1857, age 21y 6m. Her birthdate is calculated from that information.

Child 1. Temperance

Temperance Sturdevant appears5969 in the 1865 census for Tioga, NY, in the household of George and Temperance Buckly, as the 9 year-old daughter of Luman Sturdevant, widower. It is assumed she is the daughter of Luman and Rebecca (Lee) Sturdevant.
