Family of William HICKS and Sarah Eleanor? LEE

William HICKS b. 1802 Oct 145966. d. 1860 Feb 85966 at Poughkeepsie, NY.
Sarah Eleanor? LEE b. 18075966. d. 1844 May 285966.

Married5960. The petition for probate5959 5960 of Obadiah Lee's will mentions deceased daughter Sarah? Lana? Hicks.

At present, an unsoured Hicks genealogy5966 is the only indication of the first name of the husband of Sara/Sairy/Lana Hicks, daughter of Obadiah Lee.

William's death date given in the Hicks genealogy is similar to an 1860 census mortality schedule which lists William Hicks, age 57, married, occ: laborer, died in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY, February, 1860, of consumption.

The petition for probate5959 5960 for Obadiah Lee's will mentions Obadiah Lee's deceased daughter Sara(?) (in the handwritten version), or Lana (in the typewritten version) Hicks. The petition mentions her children as Rebecca Ann Merritt of New Fairfield, Conn.; Jackson Hicks of Poughkeepsie; and Lovica Kirk (wife of Alva Kirk) and Abner Hicks of Poughkeepsie (both minors).

An unsourced genealogy5966 has William Hicks married (second) 23 June 1830, Eleanor, daughter of Obadiah Lee of Putnam county. She was born 1807, and died 28 May 1844. It is possible that Obadiah's daughter was named Sarah Eleanor, and "Lana" was a nickname.
