Charles Francis CHASE b. 1864~2712 at New Hampshire2712. d. 1945 Dec 285989 at New Britain General Hosp, New Britain, CT5989.
Ruth Stewart ARNOLD b. 1880 Dec 164238 at Cambridge, MA4238. d. 1971 Jan 75988 at Plainville Convalescent Home, Plainville, CT5988.

Married2712 1914 Feb 232712 at Cambridge, MA2712. Ruth Stewart Arnold and Charles Francis Chase were married2712 by Arthur Chase, clergyman, Ware, MA. Other records (1910 and 1920 censuses for Ware, MA) suggest that the clergyman was Charles' brother, Arthur, born ~1868, New Hampshire, listed as "clegyman" and "Rev" in 1910 and 1920.

Ruth's birth record provides her middle name. Somewhat confusing, the 1880 census2706, enumerated June 1, 1880, lists Ruth as age 6/12, "(born Dec)," which indicates a birth year of 1879. However, her birth record and the 1900 census2707 indicate 1880 is correct. Ruth Stewart Arnold is listed in the Class of 1900 in several issues of the yearbook for Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, MA. The 1900 yearbook states she lived at 1683 Cambridge St (where she also appears in the 1900 census2707 with her mother and siblings), was "literary," and a member of the Athletic Association. On June 1, 1907, Ruth was the maid of honor at her sister Mabel's marriage4861 to Rufus Miles. A 1908 passport application (www.ancestry.com) for Ruth S Arnold, states she resided at the Moses Brown School, Providence, RI. In 1910, Ruth resided335 in Manhattan, NY, in the household of her brother Robert, along with her sister Margaret. Ruth was a "philantrhopist" for an improvement association for the poor. The Christian Science Monitor (Boston, Mass.) (fultonhistory.com), Nov 9, 1912, announcement was made that Miss Ruth S Arnold, for two and a half years general secretary of the Salem (Mass.) Young Women's Christian Association, has resigned to take a position in Bristol, Conn., with the Associated Charities. That article noted that, during Ruth's tenure in Salem, the association had moved from two rooms in an office building to a home of its own on Brown Street. \tab
