Clara H SCHOLTZ b. 1864 Nov1381 at Germany1381.

Married6034 1882 Mar 206034 at res of the bride, Philadelphia, PA6034. George Edmund Alkins and Clara H Scholtz, both residents of Phila, PA, were married Mar 20, 1882, "res of the bride," by (minister) A Johnson, assumed to be of the Norris Square Methodist Episcopal Church, Philadelphia, PA.

In 1880, "Geo Edmund" is listed4877 as the son of Clark Alkins and wife Clarissa.

The death certificate4989 for Geo. E. Alkins lists him as age 29 years, married, occupation "Actor," place of birth Penna, parents not listed, and (place of death? residence?) Ward 31st, 2229 Emerald St. This George Alkins is assumed to be the son of Clark Alkins as the address (2229 Emerald) listed on the certificate is the same as the home address listed1735 for Clark Alkins in the 1891 directory for Philadelphia.

Following George Alkins' death, Clara married5903 in 1891, Philadelphia, PA, Albert H Yard. Clara H Yard appears1381 in the 1900 census for Phila, PA, as the wife of Albert Yard, mother of 2, 1 living.. Residing with them was Rufus H Yard, step-son, b Aug 1885, born PA, father born New York, mother born Germany.

Of importance in the 1900 census is the notation that Clara Yard was the mother of 2, 1 living. That corroborates the assumption that Walter Clark Alkins and Rufus H Alkins, both born Aug 15, 1885, were twin sons of George and Clara Scholtz Alkins, and Walter died before June, 1900, the enumeration date of the 1900 census cited.

Walter Clark Alkins is listed6035 in a transcribed record as born 15 Aug 1885, Phila, PA, the son of George E and Clara H Alkins. Walter died sometime before June, 1900, when his remarried mother (Clara Yard) was enumerated1381 as the mother of 2, 1 living. Walter's twin brother, Rufus H (Alkins) Yard, born Aug 1885, is listed as the step-son of Albert Yard in that census.
