In 1911 (publication date) William was in command of the four-masted schooner, Florence Howard, owned by the Atlantic Shipping Company of Stonington, CT.

She may also be the Emily L Farrow on 23 April of that year is listed in Manhattan, born ~1904 in Maine and working as a telephone operator.
