In 1850, Maria (Sprague) Veazie, the wife of Rufus' brother John, and Maria's children, are listed in the household with Rufus. In 1860, Rufus and wife Lucinda are living in a household with no children listed. Rufus isn't found in the 1870 census. Perhaps he was at sea as he was a mariner. In 1877, listed as a seaman, his residence was on Lawrence st, Rockland, ME. In 1880, Rufus, Mary, 2 children from Mary's previous marriage, and the 2 children of Rufus and Mary are listed in Rockland. In 1900, his second wife Mary was a widow. Hillman⁸⁰⁰ has his death 28 Dec 1882 at Rockland.

In 1892, Mary reside at 18 Lawrence St, in Rockland. In 1920, Mary, age 86 and a widow, is living with son Charles and his wife Margaret in Worchester, MA.

Lena lived with her mother from 1900 through 1910. She hasn't been found in records after that.
