Samuel and Hattie were married by J M Tanner, Clergyman. Their intention was filed Jan 31, 1905.
In 1900, Samuel Merritt Veazie, Jr, was a planing mill laborer. In 1909, his occupation2204 given in his marriage record was marine engieer. In 1910, Samuel was a marine engineer; in 1918, a marine engineer for T A Scott Co; in 1920, dredger engineer; and, in 1930, marine engineer for a steamship line. In 1935 and 1937, the New London directory lists Samuel (spouse Hattie M) as a papermaker in Montville. He died before 1953 as wife Hattie is listed as widowed at the time of her death. Hillman800 has deathdate Jun 1943.
Sam's WWI draft registration card lists "Hattie May Veazie - wife." In 1942, Sam's WWII draft registration lists "Hattie" as someone who will always know his address. Hattie's Connecticut Death Index618 entry (1953) lists her as a widow. The 1954 city directory (ancestry.com) for New London, CT, lists "Veazie Hattie M Veazie wid Samuel died Apr 19 1953 age 78."
