In 1930, Francis is listed as a bank clerk. The Daily Kennebec (Augusta, ME) Journal, Nov 6, 1941, reported that Francis P Dow, a teller at the First National Granite Bank, was on vacation, a hunting trip "beyond Bangor." The same newspaper, Apr 12, 1943, mentions Francis P Dow as taking office as treasurer for the YMCA. In 1947 (Portland ME Press Herald, May 26), Francis was a member of the Kennebunk Lions Club. By 1949, Francis was District Deputy Governor for the Lions. The Biddeford (ME) Journal, Mar 14, 1962, mentions Francis as the treasurer of the Kennebunk Savings Bank. He also served on the Board of Selectmen for Kennebunk. He retired496 from the Kennebunk Savings Bank.
