The marriage record (MVR 226:157) for John D Fogg & Phebe S Veazie lists the parents of each. Phebe's parents are listed as Joshua & Clara Day, though her mother was Clarissa Joselyn Wentworth. Clarissa Joselyn had married previously Benjamin Wentworth. Perhaps Clara "J" was heard by the clerk as Clara Day. In any case, Phebe's death index entry2002 lists her father "Joshua Neozie," mother "Clarisy Joslin," and spouse John D Fogg. In addition, daughter Edith's birth record825, reported by her personally, lists her mother as Phoebe S Veazie, b Quincy Mass.

John's middle name is listed825 in dau. Edith's birth record. The Dover (NH) city directory1735 for 1912 lists John D Fogg, 66, died Sept. 8, 1908, just above the entry for Phebe S. Fogg, widow of John D., house 74 Sulivan.

In 1865, Phebe resided2954 with her mother and sister Caroline in the household of her sister Mary, and Mary's husband Ebenezer Underwood. Phebe was a dressmaker.

In 1910, Phebe, widowed, is living with her daughter Mabel and son-in-law William Ames. In 1912, she is living1735 in Dover (NH) with her daughter Edith A at 74 Sullivan. In 1917, she is listed in the Dover (NH) city directory, Somersworth section, just before her daughter Edith's entry: Fogg, Phoebe S., 74, died Nov. 25, 1914.

Edith's middle name is listed on her birth record. She reported her birth information to the clerk at Sanford (ME) on May 27, 1918. Edith attended Boston University2003, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority2004, and graduated in the Class of 1899 with a Bachelor of Arts. In June of 1900, perhaps shortly after her graduaton, Edith, a school teacher, is living909 in the household of her brother Walter. In 1912, she is living1735 with her mother, recent widow. In 1914, Edith is living1735 in Somersworth, NH, a teacher, home 89 Prospect. In 1921, the Alpha Phi Quarterly2004 reported the rather tragic death of Edith. In January of 1919, she was stricken with paralysis and lay helpless in a hospital in Gloucester (MA) for several months. Recovering somewhat, she was removed to the home of her sister Mabel (Fogg) Ames in Somersworth, NH. In August, she flagged and her death came suddenly. She had been working at Miss McClintock's School [for Girls, Boston] and attending the Boston University school of Business Administration.
