Stephen was the son of Stephen, Jr., and Relief (Thayer) Penniman. Stephen, widower, bootmaker, of Quincy, married second (src 944 p 4983), Jan 24, 1844, Susan Brown, widow of Quincy, by Wm. P. Lunt, Pastor, Unitarian Society, Quincy. Stephen died (src 855 175:251 married at the age of 63y 7m of consumption.
