Leslie lived his life in the Hammondsport and Bradford, NY, area, working primarily as a farmer. In 1910, however, his occupation was listed1132 as a teamster in a wine cellar, likely at one of the several wineries in the Finger Lakes region of New York state. He lived1653 with his daughter Ruth (Barkley) Phillips from about 1960 until his death.

Edith's obituary1170 has her death date as March 20, 1983.

Leon died4118 at the age of 53. His obituary has his death date of Sept 10. He was a life-long resident of the Bradford area, and farmed there for over 30 years.

Child 5. MaryMary died4120 at the age of 17 after a short illness. She was a junior at Bradford High School and a member of the Bradford Methodist Church. Although her obituary has her last name (as well as other family members) as "Bartley," the names of her father and siblings, and sisters (Mrs Fred Howell and Mrs Orrin Phillips) clearly indicate that "Barkley" was intended.
