According to Marion Springer, Steuben Co Historian, Frank and Luella had no children. None are mentioned in his obituary. In 1925, Franklin and his uncle James were living in Bradford, apparently just the two of them. In the 1930 census, Franklin, age 31, is listed as married at age 27. Luella, age 35, is listed as married at age 31. Their marriage date is estimated from that information.

Marion Springer, Steuben Co Historian, added a handwritten note to the obituary of Frank J Barkley: "wife Luella Perry d-1980 no ch." Luella's death date is given as May 1980 in the Social Security Death Index.
