Family of Merrill (Merle) BARKLEY and Lulu Mae BARKLEY

Merrill (Merle) BARKLEY b. 1889 Jun1154 at Starkey, New York221. d. 1961 May 211164. bd. Prospect Lawn Cem., Hamburg, New York1164.
Lulu Mae BARKLEY b. 1886 Aug 111164 at Illinois1174. d. 1956 Jan 291164 at Hamburg, New York. bd. Prospect Lawn Cem., Hamburg, New York1164.

Married1174 1920~1174.

On his World War One draft registration card, Merle listed his name as "Merrill" but signed the card "Merle." On that draft registration card, he lists his mother as a dependant, and himself as single.

In 1910, Merle is boarding in Cleveland in the household of Claude Knapp and family. Claude is a railroad engineer and Merle is a railroad fireman. By 1918, he is working as a carpenter, a self-employed building constructor.

In 1930, Merle F Barclay is listed with a wife of ten years, Lulu M Barclay, age 42 (born ~1888). The Prospect Lawn Cemetery index1164 lists Lulu Mae Barclay, died 29 Jan 1956 at the age of 69y 5m 18d. That implies a birth date of 11 Aug 1886, which is listed herein for want of a better source. I.e., the accuracy of the cemetery index leaves some doubt as it also lists her birth year as 1880.
