DOMINICUS SEWELL was born c. 1815 in New Brunswickb,f or Nova Scotiag, Canada. He diedm 22 Aug 1888 in Covington, PA. He married in prob. Corinna, Maine, MARTHA HURSTAN VEAZIEb,c before 1843d. She was born 30 Nov 1816c and diedn 14 Nov 1892, also in Covington. Martha was the daughter of STEPHEN and MARTHA HARDING VEAZIE. Her middle name is recordedc clearly and is not, as has been listed without reference elsewhere, Harding. Dominicus was in Corinna (Penobscot), Maine in 1850f. Dominicus and Martha emigratedp to Caton (Steuben Co.), New York, about 1852, and lived a few houses away from C. H., Gustavus and Stephen Veazie. Dominicus was a farmer, a clock tinker and jeweler thereb,e,p. Sometime after 1880, they moved to Covington, PA, probably to live near their son Edgar, where they apparently resided until their deaths.

Note: The Bath (NY) Courier, 16 May 1890, reported the death of "Mrs. Martha H. Sewell" in Hornellsville. She was the wife of Adelbert A. Sewell and should not be confused with the daughter of Stephen and Martha Veazie. Nor should that Adelbert Sewell, b.c. 1852, probably the son of Almon and Lucinda Sewell, be confused with Dominicus and Martha Sewell's son Albert D. Sewell.
