Henry does not seem to appear in the 1860 or 1870 census records. It may be he is the Henry Vesey of the 11th Regiment of the Indiana Cavalry, serving during the Civil War.
In 1880, Henry, wife Mary and children Florence, Melvin, Ina and Myrtle, resided in Elkhart, IN, where he was a laborer. In 1900, Henry, a day laborer, resided with his son Melvin and Melvin's family. In 1910, Henry, then a retired farmer, had married Fanny and they resided in Goshen Twp, Elkhart Co., IN, with several of Fanny's children by her former marriage. In 1920, he, no occupation listed, and Fannie still resided in Goshen.

The marriage record1523 for daughter Florence (to Orville Lutz) lists her mother's name as Mary Blood. The birth record1455 for Fern Vesey lists his mother Mary as born in New York. She may be the daughter of Charles and Maria Blood who, in 1860, Jefferson, Elkhart Co., Indiana, had a daughter Mary, age 11, b NY. In 1870, Charles and Maria lived in Bristol, Elkhart Co., IN. Mary A Vesey died4641 Oct 2, 1896, at her late home on Middlebury road, Goshen, IN. She died of "calculi" at the age of 46.

Ina is likely the "Evanilla" Vesey in an Oct 27, 1897, obituary4640, who died Oct 21, age 21, at the home of her father, Henry Vesey. That obituary mentions that Evanilla was predeceased by her sister Myrtle just one week previously. No further information on "Iva M" Vesey found.

Myrtle died4642 Oct 14, 1897, of typhoid fever, at the age of 18.

Fern Vesey died4643 at the age of 3 of diphtheria.
