Family of Oscar Victor BURRIS and Verna May THOMPSON

Married528 1909~528.

In 1900, Oscar and Verna had been married one year.

In 1917, Oscar's WWI draft registration221 states that he was a wife and child as dependents. It appears that, by 1920, he had remarried to Ethel G (unkn maiden name) as he appears in 1920, 1930 and 1940 as her husband in the Los Angeles area. In 1911, Oscar is listed1735 at the same address at which he and Verna appear in the 1910 census.

In 1910, Oscar and Verna appear twice in the census. On 20 April, they are listed with Oscar's parents' family. On 21 Apr they are listed living on Waterloo St and Verna's mother living with them. In 1916, Verna is listed745 as a voter in Los Angeles, apparently not associated with Oscar. In 1920, daughter Dorothy is living with Verna's mother and brother and she can't be found in records after 1917. Perhaps she died sometime between 1917 and 1920 and Oscar remarried.
