It seems likely that the William Barkley listed in Michigan Marriages1953 was the son of Josiah and Fanny (Haines) Barkley: the marriage record for William Barkley and Hattie Teesdale indicates his parents (Josiah and Fanny), his birthyear as ~1832, and that it was his second marriage; census records for William and Elizabeth indicate his birthyear as ~1832 and he and Elizabeth named a daughter Fanny.
William H Barkley is listed in Michigan Marriages1523, age 58, marrying (his second) to Hattie (nee Teesdale) Bittenbender (her second) on Jul 22, 1890. His parents are listed as Josiah Barkley and Fannie Haines. That record lists his birthplace as Oakland Co., MI. In 1870 and 1880, William, wife Elizabeth and family lived in Kent Co., MI. Following Libbie's death, he married second Hattie Bittenbender (nee Teesdale). In 1900, William, a widower, was living with sons Buron and Roy in Kansas. He was a farmer by trade.
Elizabeth's headstone reads "LIBBIE Wife of Wm Barkley" and has her full birth and deathdates. Daughter Carrie is listed on the same stone, below Libbie. Several records indicate Elizabeth was called "Libbie."
