Family of Harvey (m170) Henry? BARKLEY and Lucinda Pearce ROWLEY
Harvey (m170) Henry? BARKLEY b. 1817 Dec1520 at New York1520. d. 1874 Apr 221520 at Lowell, Kent Co., MI1520.
Lucinda Pearce ROWLEY b. 1822 Sep 22840 at New York2573. d. 1898 Feb 72575 at Lowell, Mich2575. bd. Oakwood Cem., Lowell, MI840.
Though Moffat lists Josiah and Fanny's son as "Henry," all records uncovered thus far, e.g., death certificates, censuses, etc., indicate "Harvey" as his name. Some indices listing "Henry Barkley" seem to be mistranscriptions of "Harvey" when the document images are examined. Harvey's birthdate is calculated from his age at death: 56y 4m. Harvey was a farmer by trade.
Lucinda's death certificate2575 lists her parents' names, including her mother's maiden name. The informant for that certificate was "M. O. Barkley," Lucinda's daughter Martha. Lucinda died of "hepatic colic."
Child 1. Martha
Martha is listed variously in recods as Orilla, Orinda, Martha O, M Orinda, etc. Her death certificate lists Martha Orinda as her name. That record indicates she was a school teacher, retired from the Grand Rapids school system and died of chronic myocarditis. Her parents' names (Harvey Barkley and Lucinda Rowley) are listed thereon and the informant was Nelson E Goin of 447 Prospect Ave, the place listed for her death. The 1930 census lists Nelson Goin as the brother of Laura Carmien, residing 447 Prospect in Grand Rapids. Laura's occupation was "Nurse, Nursing Home,"
