At the time of his marriage to Clarissa Hardwick, Calvin was a widower. He is listed as a butcher.
Calvin was a butcher by trade. He married (probably) first in Attleborough, May 30, 1826, Sally (Sarah) Dary, with whom he had several children. Among other children of Calvin and Sarah was Adeline, who married Jonathan Baxter, and, in 1870, Calvin resided with them.
In 1855, Adam Hardwick, age ~82, resided2912 with Clarissa and Calvin in Quincy. Also residing with them was William H Hardwick, age 10, Clarissa's nephew, the son of Thomas Price Hardwick.
Clarissa's middle initial is mentioned in an 1865 affidavit4521 by her brother Thomas Hardwick. Thomas mentions that she deceased "since" 1863, without children, and describes the provisions of her will and probate. Though Clarissa Wilmarth, dau of Adam and Sarah V Hardwick, died1774 in 1863, Clarissa L Wilmarth (her estate?) received4509 1/105 ($249.45) of the estate of Joseph Veazie.
The above-mentioned description4521 of Clarissa's will and probte by Thomas Hardwick is reflected in the probate records, Mass. Wills and Probate Records, 1635-1991, Norfolk Co., Vol 110, pp 157, 158; Samuel V Hardwick and Thomas P G Hardwick were appointed executors for the estate of Clarissa Wilmarth, 5 Dec 1893. Her will was dated Dec 9, 1862, and mentions sister Mary Ann Williams, wife of Francis Williams; brother Thomas Price Greenleaf Hardwick; brother Samuel V Hardwick; June, wife of brother Samuel V Hardwick; Sarah Frances Hardwick, dau of brother Thomas P G Hardwick; Frances Whicher, Sarah Preston, and Harrison White, children of deceased sister Elizabeth C White; and Mary Elizabeth Faxon, dau of sister Lucy Faxon.
