Married1578 1885~1578 at prob New York. In the 1900 census1578, Charles C and Laura Sears appear as husband and wife. That year, Elias Ackerman, brother-in-law to head of household Charles C Sears resided with them. Also, in that record, Charles and Laura had been married for 15 years. The place of their marriage is assumed as their children were born in New York. The marriage records1728 for Anna Sears and Andrew McLaughlin, and for Nettie Sears and Nathaniel Nixon list parents' names, including Laura's maiden name and place of birth.

In the 1855 census4313, enumerated in June, Charles's age is llisted as 11/12. In 1870, Charles, residing with his widowed mother, worked in a wool mill.

In 1900, Charles was an express driver. Various editions of the Newburgh (NY) Register (fultonhistory.com) provide information on his life. In Feb, 1901, Charles was a member of a committee which organized The Expressmen Dance at the Mannerchor Hall in Newburgh. Also in 1901, he listed among Lawson Hose Veterans attending the "Old Fireman Feast" at the Palatine Hotel in Newburgh, NY. In Aug, 1902, in a list of election officers filed by the Republican City Committee, Charles C Sears was the ballot clerk for the second ward. On Aug 25, 1902, the same newspaper reported that Charles C Sears, in the employ of "Major Weston" for some 15 years, had resigned his position with the Weston Transfer Co., apparently due to errors regarding handling of pieces of baggage, characterized as "of a character that would happen to any mortal." Charles entered into an agreement with W. O. Mailler of Newburgh.

Laura's middle initial appears840 on the headstone for husband Charles and her.
