Married⁴⁰⁷⁹ 1912 Oct 26⁴⁰⁷⁹ at Manhattan, NY⁴⁰⁷⁹.

William joined¹⁸¹⁷ the U. S. Army Jun 15, 1904. He retired⁴³⁶⁴ at the rank of Major General in 1948, having received the Distinguished Service Medal three times. Following his retirement, he spent his summers, with the exception of his last few, at his summer home in the Old Black Point section of Niantic, CT.

He was survived by his widow, two daughters and several grand-children and great-grand-children.

Ellen's full birthdate is listed⁴³⁶⁹ on a 1929 passenger list for the SS Leviathan, on its voyage from Cherbourgh, France, to the Port of New York, NY. Listed just above her name in that record is Thomas B Barry, apparently her brother. As both Ellen and Thomas are listed at the same address, 2900 29th St, Washington, DC, one might suppose that Thomas was residing with Ellen and her husband, William.
