Married4633 1853 Apr 65372 at prob Indiana. The death certificate4533 for Mrs Anna Eutzler lists her father as "Vesey" and her mother as "Graham." She was the widow of George Eutzler. Howard5372, p 934, provides the date of marriage for Anna Vesey and George Eutzler.
The family5326 of George Eutzler came to St Joseph Co., IN, in 1831, and was brought up on a farm. In 1850, George, age 22, and a farmer, resided2902 with his parents and siblings. In 1860, he still resided2905 with his parents and his wife Anna, and his children Elizabeth, Enos, and Erastus. He continued to farm in Penn Township until his death.
Although the death certificate4633 for George Eutzler provides his birth date as Jun 2, 1830, other records indicate an earlier year is more likely. I.e., census records more consistently indicate 1829; in 19003181, enumerated June 8 and 9, George gave his age as 71, and birth date as June, 1828. Howard5372 has June, 1829. The birth date given herein is a combination of June 2 from the death certificate, and the year given by Howard.
At the time of his death4633, George was married and a farmer. The informant for that certficate was Enos Eutzler of Mishawaka, IN. George died of Brights(?). Indiana Deaths2063 has his death date as Dec 21, 1906. That appears to be a transcription error, as 1908 is the date given in the image of his death certificate4633, as well as his headstone840
In the 1900 census3181, the birth date for Anna M Eutzler is listed as Dec 1835. Her death certificiate4633 has Mar 16, 1837. Her age listed in various census records indicate December, 1835, is more likely. The informant for that death certificate4633 was Enos Eutzler of Mishawaka, IN. She died of cerebral thrombosis.
In 1910, Annie M Eutzler, age 73 and widowed, resided4663 with her son Enos, and Enos' family.
Child 3. Erastus
In the 1860 census2905, enumerated June 14, Erastus' is listed as age 3/12. His birth date is estimated from that record. Erastus doesn't appear2904 with the family in 1870, and is assumed to have died young. Hillman800 has Erastus died Aug 18, 1866, aged 6yr, 5mo, 1dy, buried with his parents in Hollingshead-Eutzler Cemetery, referencing "Saint Joseph County Cemetery Inscriptions," South Bend Genealogical Socity. Howard5372, published in 1907, mentions (p 934) that Erastus was deceased. Howard mentions Erastus as their "second child," which is an error, possibly intending second "son."
