Family of William Dallas FURMAN and Ada Ann WILLIAMSON

William Dallas FURMAN b. 1853 May 95664 at Gaines Township, PA5664. d. 1924 Aug 235664 at home in Gaines, PA5664. bd. Rexford Cemetery5664.
Ada Ann WILLIAMSON b. 1858 Aug 145657 at Canisteo, NY5657. d. 1934 Apr 245657 at 61 Depot St, Canisteo, NY5657. bd. Bennetts Creek Cemetery, s of Canisteo, NY5657.

Married5657 1878 Jan 15665 at home of Charles Loughry, Cameron, NY5665. Ada Williamson and Dallas Furman were married5665 by Rev G W Gibley.

The obituary5657 of Mrs (Ada) W E Lamphier mentions her first marriage to Dallas Furman of Cameron. The obit states that she had four children with Dallas. She later married Wm E Lamphier. Of her four children, only son Jesse and "a daughter in the west" survived her. Two other sons were dead. "All the children were by the first husband."

The obituary5657 for Mrs W E Lamphier (Ada Williamson) states she married (first) Dallas Furman of Cameron, and had four children by him. She later married William E Lamphier. Interestingly, her obituary states explicitly "All the children were by the first husband." Of the children, she was survived by son Jesse, and "a daughter in the west. The two sons are dead."

Dallas Ferman(sic) and wife Ada appear in the 1880 census5613 for Cameron, NY. The three sons appear in the 1892 census5663 for Cameron, NY. That census doesn't indicate separate families or relationships, but, appearing in order are: Dallas, Ada, Willie, Jesse, and Lee, all with the surname "Firman."

The social security application3346 for Gladys Williamson Provancha lists her parents as William D Furman and Ada A Williamson.

Ada Williamson was born5658 in Cameron, NY, the daughter of David and Sally Williamson, in whose household she appears5656 at age 1 in the 1860 census for Cameron, NY.

In 1865, Ada A Williamson, age 7, born Steuben Co., NY, resided5586 in the household of Charles (age53, b Steuben Co.) and Ann (age 43, b Indiana) Loghy, listed as "niece." As Ada Williamson doesn't seem to otherwise appear in 1865, she is assumed to be the Ada Williamson of this profile. That relationship hasn't, as yet, been determined, and Charles Loughry being Ada's "uncle" may be an honorific. That relationship apparently continued, as, when Ada married5665 Dallas Furman in 1878, the ceremony took place at the house of Charles Loughry, in Cameron, NY. That relationship (whatever it may be) is further corroborated by the appearance of Ann Loghry, age 71, in the 1892 census5663 for Cameron, NY, listed below the family of Dallas and Ada Firman.

In 1916, Mr and Mrs W E Lamphier, and son Jesse, of Canisteo, who had been living in the Hallett hotel for the past year, moved to Wells, Minnesota, "their former home." Mr and Mrs E A Parish and Miss Millicent McGowan, of Hornell, went with them to help them locate there "permanently."

Child 1. Willie

The obituary5657 of Ada Lamphier states that all her children were by her first husband, and "the two sons are dead."
