Fred married first, Amy French who died in 1909. Fred is listed as widowed in the 1910 census when he was living with daughter Katherine in the household of G K Stratton and Katherine Stratton, Aimee's mother, who had remarried. Fred married second, Grace Emery, whom he left as a widow. Fred's full name is listed on his WWI draft reg card. This card, 1918, lists his occupation as Veazie Hardware Co., nearest relative - Grace E Veazie, wife. In 1920 and 1930, he is listed as a retail hardware merchant and Rockland city directory entries list Veazie Hardward Company, 441 Main in Rockland. In 1920, he, Grace and Katherine are listed in his father's household.

In 1938, the Rockland Directory lists "Main St Hardware Co.," successors to Veazie Hardware Co., 441 Main St. Later that address became the Rockland Cafe.

Grace Emery Veazie is DAR ID No. 164315. In 1900, Grace was living with her parents and her sisters. By 1920, she had married Fred. In the 1935 Rockland directory, Grace E Veazie, widow of Fred T (Veazie Hardware Co.), is listed at 12 Shaw Ave. The Veazie Hardware Company is listed at 441 Main (Grace E Veazie and J Arthur Blackman). In the same directory, J Arthur Blackman, "Veazie Hardware Co.," wife Olive H, is residing 25 Suffolk. In 1938, Grace, still Shaw Ave., is assistant to Ruppert L Stratton. In 1940, she and step-daughter Katherine were still living on Shaw Ave. Grace was an assistant at a dental office. In the 1940s, the Portland (ME) Press Herald has several articles bylined by Mrs Grace Veazie, Press Herald Society reporter for Rockland. Her obituary mentions her father and mother, Charles B and Sadie (Cook) Emery, and her surviving (step-) daughter Katherine A Veazie.
