Married660 1793 Dec 3660 at Goodwill Presbyterian Ch., Orange Co., NY660.

Hugh was bequeathed1149 $25 by his brother James W, 2 May 1799. In his own will, he bequeathed to his wife Jane $325 in lieu of dower; to son William T Barkley his real and personal estate when he came of age, and the lot land on which they lived; to daughters Maria, Isable[sic] and Jane his other lot land near Hopewell Church to be sold by his executors and each to receive $500; to daughter Hariet[sic] $500. He appointed his wife executrix and "brothers" Joseph Barkley and Robert A Thomson executors; all to be guardians of his aforementioned children. That Robert A Thompson is likely his wife's father. He signed it 6 Nov 1809, and it was witnessed by William Barkley, Nathaniel Barkley and Mary Barkley. The will was probated 17 April 1810 and sealed 20 April 1810. In 18501231 and 18600, William, Jane and Harriet Barkley (all of whom Moffat lists as unmarried), are listed in a single household. Hugh's birthdate is calculated840 from his age at death: 41y 9m & 2? d.

Child 1. William (m112)

Moffat655 says Wililam Thompson Barkley, sister Jane and sister Harriet all died unmarried. His deathdate is, however, clear in the image.

Harriet was living with brother William T and sister Jane Barkley in 1850, 1860 and 1870. She can't be found after 1870.
