George was involved during his life with teaching and composing music. In 1855, his occupation is listed as "tuner." In 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900, he was a music teacher. His father's obituary2756 mentions him as superintendent of music in the Chelsea public schools. In 1910, he was a music editor. George's obituary2744 describes him as a composer of light operas and a member of the faculty of the New England Convervatory of Music. His death certificate1762 lists him as a retired music teacher. An internet search will result in many references to his work, including seveal songbooks and hymnals. Many newspaper articles regarding church services list "Veazie" and "George Veazie, Jr" as the author of hymns listed.
Anna was living with her parents and siblings in 1850. Anne died1790 at the age of 56y 11m 28d of "marasmus." Her birthdate is calculated from her age at death.
Child 1. Marion
Through the 1880 census, Marion lived with her parents in Chelsea. In 1900, Marion, listed as Marian Veazey, a bookkeeper, born Jan 1858 (same as Marion Prescott Veazie birth record), b MA, parents b MA/MA, is living867 as a boarder in the household of Minerva Dean in Chicago. She died perhaps before 1910 as she doesn't seem to appear in the census for that year.
Child 2. Arthur
The 1870 census1760 lists Arthur as born in May, age 1 month in the July 11 enumeration. It may be that he was baptized or christened in June, or that may be his death date as no further information on an Arthur William Veazie seems to be evident.
Child 4. Walter
Walter lived with his parents up to and including 1880. In 1910 through 1930, he was a patient1769 1770 1771 at the Gardner State Colony for the Insane in Westminster, MA.
